Location
Port Charlotte Florida, in my backyard.Time
Late morning.Lighting
It was bright sun, but shaded in some palm trees.Equipment
Believe it or not, all I had with me was a Sony point and shoot. I truly believe the equipment is not always as important as the technique and composition.Inspiration
The brown anole is very common in Southwest Florida, and it is easy to photograph, but this particular one seemed to just be posing and asking for his portrait to be taken showing off his dewlap.Editing
Very little cropping, and I did rotate the picture. The original has the anole facing down the tree, but I thought it was much more interesting rotated. Also adjusted the saturation slightly to boost the color in the dewlap. In my camera bag
Cameras, cleaning equipment, extra batteries and weather resistant case. ( It rains a lot here in southwest Florida.)Feedback
Just get out in nature. The opportunities are everywhere, even your own backyard.
