Location
This picture was taken in the region of the `Snowdonia` mountain ranges, in North Wales, UK.Time
The photo itself was taken Mid-Afternoon.Lighting
Taking the photo at this particular time of day allowed a mixture of natural lighting from the sun to create an image consisting of shade low down in the valley whilst also being bright higher up, thus giving the effect of being quite dark and clear at the forefront, brightening as the eye travels up the image, then brighter still in the background, which in turn gave a fading in the distance appearance.Equipment
This photo was taken with the Fuji X30EXR camera, No flash, No lens filters, and simply hand held.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this image by the mixture of shade and light along with the overall feel of the setting itself. With the bridge set just to the right crossing over the stream leading to the gateway, which in turn is the entrance to the walkway on the left, which then when followed takes the eye to the centre of the picture and to the bend along the hillside, making you want to follow it around to see just what lays around the corner. To me it gives a feel of intrigue and discovery.Editing
I added clarity and a little sharpness to the image along with slight colour enhancement/saturation, and a touch of vignette around the edges. In my camera bag
I usually only carry my Fuji X30EXR camera, as well as a simple pocket camera for snap shots, and occasionally a variety of filter lenses.Feedback
Take note of the light and dark areas along with the shades and tones to create an image which has depth and doesn't simply look flat. Also try to add focal points of interest. In this shot I believe the main is the bridge and stream. Take them away and it would simply be just another country landscape scene with no great attraction or talking point.
