Creativity at it's best. Full of tremendous visual impact not only photographically but emotionally, a precious moment captured and frozen for all to enjoy. Love your rain addition, it works to benefit the image. Very strong vibrant image marries well with a vibrant subject awakening the child within us and bringing us a smile. This is pure MAGIC. I'm still very much a beginner, but know and understand beauty and true art when I see it...still don't know a lot about some of the "special effects," but what you've done here is capture and create a memorable image of love, life, and childhood...very poignant for today, I think. Congrats on your award - well deserved!!

Wonderfully fanciful. This type of digital hyper-imagery, far more akin to the idealized artistry of illustration than the realistic authenticity of photography, often leaves me ambivalent, but there is no denying the superb visual realization of your imaginative conception in this picture.

Location
There are three photos combined into one , so three locations. I took the background at an abandoned park called "Dark Horse Holler" I took the picture of the little girl while we were walking down the street. (She is my neighbor bud 'Cassa Marie Smith' ) and the dog is my Japanese Chin and I took his picture in my back yard.Time
Evening.Lighting
The lighting was all natural, no flash and was around sunset for all images. I enhanced the light in Photoshop using the dodge tool and the gradient tool on another layerEquipment
I use only Canon Gear. my Camera is the Canon 5DMKIII and my lenses are Canon 50 f/1.2, 85 f/1.2, 24 f/1.4Inspiration
I take candid pictures of Cassa often and many times I will get back to my computer and see her 'mood' or action in a different setting and then set out to create it in Photoshop, which is what I did here.Editing
Yes, quite a lot! I added Cassa and my dog to the background image. I then added the sun rays and the rain and puddles in Photoshop. ( I created my own rain brush) I used the oil filter in Photoshop Cs6 to make the image look more painterly. I also added the butterflies. I then created a warming filter by making a yellow fill layer and using the multiply blend mode.In my camera bag
Canon 5DMKIII, my fav lens is the Canon 50 f/1.2 and my favorite lighting is the Ice Light, which works great right after sunset. I also use a canon speedlight with an old Gary Fong Globe diffuser.Feedback
To just let your imagination run free and to try and visualize what you want to create in your mind and make it happen with the camera and Photoshop. There really is no limit to what you can create now !
