Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon, Oregon

Time

We spent the entire afternoon at the park. This was taken about 1:30pm.

Lighting

Partly cloudy skies that day so muted natural sunlight with no artificial lighting needed.

Equipment

Canon PowerShot SX230 HS

Inspiration

I've always loved seeing photos taken by others of the gorgeous Peacock tail in full display. I finally got a chance for one of my own.

Editing

I did crop for content. This particular bird had a ragged tail on one side so I cropped it out.

In my camera bag

Nowadays, SONY A7 with fixed 16mm lens, SONY A57 with 18-20mm lens, and my trusty old Canon Powershot SX50 bridge camera.

Feedback

Head to a park or zoo for a decent chance of photographing peafowl and follow them around for awhile. My next target is a wild tom turkey in full display.
