Wow; this shot is absolutely outstanding! The subtle coloring in this is beautiful; the exposure is just right, and the sky just adds to the feel and atmosphere. This is simply stunning, and nothing short of gorgeous.

The name of this waterfall is Seljalandsfoss and it is probably one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. It is very picturesque so many photographers from all over the world have photographed it. Seljalandsfoss is situated on the south part of Iceland and can be seen from the Ring Road. The waterfall is 60 metres (200 ft) high and it is possible to go behind it.Time
It is taken at 19:37.Lighting
The weather was still that day, the sky partly covered with thin clouds so the sun shone a soft light through them when going down - and at the same time it gave the cloud coverage and the surroundings a yellowish touch. It was a beautiful and spectacular light.Equipment
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM II, f/22, 1 sec, ISO 100, ND-filter, Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
The Light I think. I was heading home after a photography trip - and when I drove by the waterfall I saw how beautiful the light was and decided to stop and give it a chance. That was a great end of a good trip.Editing
After a Camera Raw convertion I darkened the sky a bit and increased the colors suitably for my own taste. I used the dodge and burn tools to get more contrast between light and shadows in some parts of the image and then I used curves to increase the contrast to the whole image and finally I sharpened it with Unsharp mask.In my camera bag
Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Canon Sl1 cameras, Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM II, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II lenses. Canon Extender EF 2x II.Feedback
My best hint for landscape photography in general is to have mostly three factors in mind: Light, lines and colours - and look how they can work best together in the environment with that main goal in mind to lead the eye of the viewer to the main subject and to strengthen the whole composition of the image. And when talking about lines it is not only about the composition itself but also the chosen perspective each time - so I want to stress the importance of always trying to find some different point of view - something new that interests the viewer.
