What a beautiful piece of architecture. Tasmania too has gorgeous old stone churches. Lovely photo, Paul

Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in my home town in Lincolnshire, England.

Time

It was around Mid-day when this shot was taken.

Lighting

At the time it was quite a dull day so no problems with sun reflection or sky washout.

Equipment

I used the `Fuji HS30EXR` camera to take this image. Hand held.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this shot by the fact not only is it a very pleasing Minster to look at but also celebrating its 900th birthday. 1114 to 2014.

Editing

I added slight sharpness and clarity along with light and colour saturation and balance to this shot along with an amount of `cloning` to remove unwanted distractions within the image.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a small snap shot camera along with a bridge camera and a variety of lenses.

Feedback

There are 2 points I would like to make. Firstly be aware of anything within the frame which may spoil the image or be unwanted or unnoticed when taking the shot itself. The original image of this church included a blue car parked on the left hand side of the church itself which spoilt the shot, so being unable to wait until it was moved by the owner I simply took the shot anyway and then removed the car from the picture myself by editing it out (or cloning) thus removing the unwanted distraction. The Second point I would like to make is, be aware of distortion. When taking this image I held the camera quite low pointing upwards, this in turn produced an image which appears to show the church with a slight lean back. Something which is not true to life and something I had not intended, so a mistake on my part.
