Light and Storm

A curtain of rain and light sweeps through the wide open spaces of Bayanbulak Grasslands on a golden autumn afternoon. Bayanbulak is a high prairie grassland located in China's northwest Xinjiang Province. The changeable weather and constant play of light and shadow made this a memorable day. Just about an hour earlier I was so overzealous in my effort to photograph this changing sky that I neglected to pay attention to my host families very aggressive sheep dog...I received a bite on the ankle for my photography efforts which was remedied by my host literally "branding" me with a rope lit on fire to kill any germs. In all a great day and some photos well worth the bite.
