I've always had self-esteem issues. I got in the nasty habit of saying really mean things to myself.
I hate to admit it, but I did the typical things someone with low self esteem would do. I would purposefully say negative things about myself in front of others hoping for some sort of affirmation that I was wrong and that I was beautiful, smart, or skinny. During the darkest times of my low self-esteem I would self harm... I hated myself that much.
At that point I promised myself I needed to change. I left positive notes for myself on my mirror or somewhere I would see it and seeked professional help. And 3 years later, I can finally say that I AM beautiful, inside and out.
