Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at a local Wildlife Park on a day trip out with my Son.

Time

This was taken in the morning, a good time to catch the animals after their breakfast as they are quite alert and very nosy and before they get sleepy in the afternoon, Apart from that, I'm an early riser, (The early Bird catches the worm so they say)

Lighting

This was taken in a Barn as these birds wee sitting on eggs, so a few setting adjustments after being outside photographing were needed.

Equipment

Because we were walking round for the day at the Park i didn't want to be carrying a heavy bag so all i had was my camera,

Inspiration

I love these birds beady eyes and their funky feathers on their head. It makes them look kind of like a Mad Scientist.

Editing

As with all my photos, they are minimally edited, with this photo all i changed was a slight bit of Sharpness to make the beak a bit clearer.

In my camera bag

I carry a couple of different lenses, my tripod and my "Bible" (my little black book that i keep a note of all the settings ive used & settings other people have used on photos that have inspired me )

Feedback

I always experiment with different angles and think out the box, with this photo, i had taken photos from further away but thought it was more of a powerful effect with the subject closer.
