Wow, stunning. Love the apple, eyes, freckles, hair, lighting and contrast. Well Done. (my opinion: as you mentioned about trying your hand at advo. photography, I think it may be a bit better to capture the entire head, at least for this shot. this is just my opinion. Also as far as what "MrFantastic" said, my thought on that is that it doesn't spoil the shot as a shot itself - However I do think if this was an advertisement the hands and nails would most likely be more manicured...) take into account that you are trying your hand at all of these things and you are not a pro. Great work. Keep shooting. Try "conning" a friend to model for you as well, it will spice things up a bit for you.

I actually prefer portraits more without the brush-up formalities that they go through via PS or PPro.
In my opinion I think your image is quite superb!....congrats and good luck with your future projects!
