Location
I have a friend that has several hoses on some land south of my little town in the northeast corner of Colorado.Time
It was sunset, and this area where I live has some really gorgeous sunsets.Lighting
I took this shot facing into the sunset so I turned the flash om the camera to the lowest setting to put a little bit of light on the horses faces and necks.Equipment
I use a Canon 50D with a 28-135mm lensInspiration
I've always loved to take photos of animals and flowers. These horses were used to me out there with my camera, My friend and I had gone out to check on the horses earlier in the day and it looked like we were going to have another pretty sunset so we hung around until the sun went down and took a few more photos of the horses. While we waiting Goody the horse on the left and Kissy went over by the fence and stood like this for a few minutes. Kissy was a champion when he was a younger horse he and my friend were in competitions for horsemanship and English style riding. My friend moved away from here not long after I took this photo and took her horses 300 miles from here, I'm not sure who I missed more her or the horses. Not long after she moved she called me and told me that Kissy had hurt his leg pretty badly and due to his advanced age they had to put him down.Editing
I did use photo shop to adjust the shadows and the brightness around the clouds. In my camera bag
I have my Canon 50D and a 28 to 135mm lensFeedback
Patience and luck are what happened here with this shot.
