Behind The Lens

Location

Taj Mahal - Agra India

Time

It was late afternoon at approx 5pm

Lighting

Late in the afternoon, contrast on the Taj and the reflection of the Taj in the pool

Equipment

Nikon D700 with a Nikor 24-70 2.8mm zoom lens, no tripod used as they are not allowed into the Taj Mahal. Camera was placed on the concrete and shutter button pressed manually.

Inspiration

The symmetry of the Taj Mahal with the trees and pond reflection draws you to the Majestic Taj Mahal.

Editing

Image initially processed in Lightroom and then Nic's Silver Effects pro.

In my camera bag

Lens: Nikor 24-70mm 2.8, Nikor 70-200mm 2.8, Sigma 12-25mm 4.5, Sigma 150-500mm 6.4. Nikon D700, SB900 flash Cokin ND filters

Feedback

Ensure you have plenty of time, do not rush explore +++. I walked passed this area many times during my visit and took several shots. It was not until I had noticed the fountains had been turned off and saw the mirror effect of the Taj that I then spent some time setting up the shot. It is one of my favourite shots from my trip to India.
