Wow, what a nice surprise! Thank you Viewbug stuff for the award and hubby for helping me get this shot. I took only 3 shots of him that day. He didn't want to play nice..

Location
I took this photo of my hubby at a small dirt track in Gladstone Queensland.Time
This photo was taken at 1.29pm during harsh lighting.Lighting
The photo was taken during very harsh lighting conditions. It was a bright sunny day, dusty and I had to work quickly to get this shot. Harsh lighting worked in my favour as I was able to maintain a wide enough aperture to blow out the background, but enough depth of field to keep hubby's image sharp.Equipment
For ths shot, I used a Canon 5DMKIII, and a Sigma 150-500mm telephoto lens, handheld without a flash or tripod.Inspiration
I love watching my husband doing wheelstands and have many photos of him from all angles so I figured, the only angle I didn't have was from down low. I wanted the image to look like he was coming right towards me and was about to run into me. My inspiration was to have that feeling of danger, speed, and adrenalin.Editing
I utilised Adobe Lightroom to adjust the shadows by +60 and clarity by +10. No other post processing was done.In my camera bag
I usually have the Canon 5DMKIII, the Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM with the 2 x tc, the Canon 50mm f.8, the Canon 24-105 f/4L IS USM, the Sigma 150-500mm f/5.6-6.3 and the 100mm f2.7L IS USM. All my lenses have the UV filter to keep them scratch free and I always carry around my polarising filters for the 70-200, 24-104 and the 100mm macro. I also have a spare battery and 3 spare CF cards. I don't have a battery grip as it is cumbersome and I like using my big lenses without a tripod so I don't need the extra weight. I also always have a torch and spare batteries for my Canon 480exii speedlight. I also have collapsible flash diffuser (60x60mm) which is always in my camera bag.Feedback
Be prepared to get down flat on your belly and then being able to get back up quickly so a little bit of fitness would be great. Have a strong left arm to be able to hold a big lens and camera to avoid camera shake. Also being able to watch the riders and observe which riders do fancy tricks and where on the track they are most likely to do those specific tricks. Previsualise the image you want to capture and then position yourself exactly where and how you want your image to look like, set your camera up, take a couple of trial shots to ensure that the exposure and framing is right, than wait patiently until you get the shot. For this image, I only took 2 shots and both shots were great. I had a hard time deciding. At the end of the day, make sure you clean your camera and lenses of any dust particles.
