I was fascinated by this small mountain pine (Pinus mugo subsp. uncinata) sitting atop a small cliff overlooking the Sant Maurici valley with the towering peaks of Els Encantats and Subenoix, amongst others. Not only it grew into a fantastic symmetrical shape - very unusual for high alpine territories - but more so, I was intrigued to know the stories about the incredible light shows it could tell, as I sat next to it, enjoying the breathtaking view.
