This image was shot at a local women's prison that had been demolished…only rubble remains. One day as I was driving, I looked in shock to find a familiar corner transformed, the outline of the prison gone like it simply vanished in thin air, leaving only a palpable dark memory. I was so overcome by an overwhelming sense of loneliness, isolation, longing, suffocation, and terror as I later walked through the shattered, broken debris that once formed walls to a plethora of lives, each with their own unique story of despair. In that rubble, I saw new green growth struggling to break through the piled cement, bricks, stones. Chills. With that, I was inspired to create an image that brought light to that darkness; an image that would represent finding divine strength, hope and beauty in emotionally and physically devastating circumstances which challenge the spirit yet lay the very foundation of our life journey. "The fire of suffering becomes the light of consciousness~" quote from Eckhart Tolle, one of my favorite authors.

Great job !! I need to learn how to do that. I know it is done with Photoshop and layers, but I still need to figure it out.
