Location
This photo was taken in Scotland at the Scottish championships at knock hillTime
Mid afternoon just after a rain shower was the time to get this photo. Wet race track, good for me, not so for himLighting
The lighting was coming and going due to the rain clouds making it hard to predict settings.Equipment
I used the nikon d 90 and the 70 to 300mm vr lens hand heldInspiration
After half a day of sun and repeated photos at the usual hot spots on the track I felt the rain might help me get some action other than panning shotsEditing

Best bet for this type of photo is to go where the pro photographers seem to be grouping. Tight bends aren't great for this as the bikes tend to slow down a lot. Slight bends and wet tracks means the driver usually takes the risk to keep his speed up. Higher iso to catch the action but not to fast to freeze the motion of the spinning wheels to. Think I used around iso 400 to 800 depending on light.aperture was around f5.6 to maintain as much front to back sharpness of the bike. Patience is a virtue!
