Location
This photo was taken on my girlfriend's parents Dairy farm in a little town called Coopernook, NSW.Time
It was mid-morning and we were walking through some of the paddocks and saw the flower (weed) rising up above the rest of the grasses under a tree.Lighting
Lighting was rather bright but luckily it was partly shaded by a tree and coming from behind me.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 600D and standard 18-55mm lens but with a small extension tube.Inspiration
The flower was standing above all the other weeds and grasses around it in full bloom and was just asking me to take it's photo. Shaded lighting and no wind worked really well and enabled me to get really close and capture it.Editing
I didn't have Photoshop or Lightroom at the time so I played around with some of the basic information of the photo like Contrast, Saturation and Hue in the simple Windows Photo ViewerIn my camera bag
I have a Canon 600D body with the two standard lenses that came with it - 18-55mm and 55-250mm as well as a Sigma 10-20mm and a Tamron 28-300mm lens and Kenko extension tube kit. I really enjoy doing long exposure photos and star trails so I have a good sturdy tripod and the Hahnel Giga T Pro II Timer Remote that I use a lot. Carrying around all this equipment is the Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack. It's a great backpack with a dedicated padded area for camera equipment as well as enough room for a couple jackets and separate area for my 2L water pack.Feedback
For me I really enjoy getting out into the great outdoors and walking around and seeing what you can find. You don't have to go far from the beaten track to find really great photo opportunities. I'm always learning and I really enjoy looking through other people's great photos to great ideas and inspiration. Just get out there and always take your camera with you!
