Location
I took this picture in the back of the Capitol Hill in Washington DC.Time
It was a late afternoon in early May just a few minutes before sunset. I rushed there through Sat. traffic from Baltimore to get sunset shots of the building and barely made it. .Lighting
I went there several times for the same shot without success, when either the sun was too far from the building at a wrong time of the year, or the lighting was too strong in summer or too soft in winter.Equipment
I used a Sony A99 camera for the first time in combination of a Vivitar Series I 19-35mm lens, an ultra wide angle lens. It was shot without tripod as I was in a hurry to catch the sunset. I used in-camera HDR setting in jpeg format.Inspiration
I was inspired by the architecture of the Senate Building and the political power of the agency. I wanted to create an image showing both.Editing
I use Corel PaintShop Pro software to enhance the contrast, color and texture of the building a little bit.In my camera bag
Now I use mostly Sony A99 ii camera, a Vivitar 19-35mm lens to walk around, a Tamron 28-300mm lens for distant shots and a Sigma 14mm as a super wide angle lens plus filters, and remote shutter release.Feedback
Be patient and persistent.
