This then wild female cottontail entered our yard about two years ago and eventually became like a family pet. She’d place her little front paws on my hand while being fed her favorite vegetables! One recent morning, her eyes wide open as if looking at me and having said goodbye, I found just her upper body, the lower having been ripped away most likely by coyote. Sad days yet persist.
