smoke signals over Everest: This photo was taken pre-digital camera days. The day started with the sky full of clouds looking like the winter was going to drop it's first snow. Three of us trekkers where at the furthest camp (not base camp). One left worried about the snow. The other and I hiked up a peak on the other side of the Khumba Glacier and watched as the clouds disappeared leaving this shot right before sunset.

Location
This photo was taken from across the Kumba Valley (below was the glacier, which is where base camp is located. It was winter time, but the weather permitted travel as normal. Three of us independent trekkers were at the furthest camp. In the morning the clouds were packed in like it was going to snow. One the thee decided to head back and not risk getting snowed in. The other trekker and I thought the clouds looked like they were going to clear. So we went up to about 18,500 feet and waited for the clouds to part and provide this glorious view.Time
The picture was taken very close to sunset. It took a couple hours to trek up to this spot. Fortunately as the day darkened and the temps fell, it took maybe a quarter of that time to get down.Lighting
All nature lighting. No fancy filters or lens. This pic was taken prior to digital photography with a basic Kodak Advanced Camera. Advanced meaning it took normal view, Panoramic and large view.Equipment
Kodak Advance Camera. (Advanced for that time of course)Inspiration
A picture of the Peak of Mount Everest!!!!!Editing
NOPE!!!In my camera bag
These days I love just whipping out my phone. Or I carry a Sony Mirrorless with one to three lens.Feedback
You have to be there to get the shot. Then take a bunch of pics and only (ONLY!!!!!) show a few of your best.
