Love the angle, and how the bokeh follows the line of the butterfly and flower. Well done!

Location
This photo was taken in Northern Minnesota along the North Shore.Time
The photo was taken late in the morning in June 2007.Lighting
This photo is naturally lit.Equipment
This photo was taken with an Olympus E-Volt E500. I don't recall the lens that I used with this shot. The shot was hand held. There was no flash used.Inspiration
I love photographing nature and it's beauty. When I saw this monarch I had to get it's photo. It was the perfect model and simply beautiful.Editing
I just did some minor cropping. Otherwise this image is straight out of the camera. In my camera bag
The equipment in my bag varies depending on what I'm shooting. I now shot with a Nikon D600 so it's always with me. Typically I will have my 105mm macro, 28-300mm and 12-24mm wide angle lens. I also bring my tripod and remote with me most times.Feedback
My best advise is patience. Don't rush up get that close up right away. You have to earn their trust. Once they realize you are not going to try and hurt or capture them they will often let you get closer. I will tend to start a little further away and take a few shots and then gradually move closer. In the case of this butterfly, I was about 6 inches away from it and was able to take a dozen or so photo before it flew away.
