Location
I took this photo in Provence,South of France,in front of My House, by the Swimming Pool, around Midday. The Swimming Pool has been a major source of Inspiration for me as a natural Light outdoor Studio. The Provence was once ruled by the Italians a few centuries ago when the Popes were based in Provence (in the Avignon Pope's Palace)before becoming a French County again ruled by France. What is left of that period of history is...Very many Italian people share this area with the French, and their cuisine is nicely mixed with the french cuisine. As part of the everyday life in Provence, everybody naturally alternates the french cuisine with the italian cuisine. The Antipasti Salad is an italian dish. It was prepared by my mother ,so she was the Food Photo Stylist for this image.Time
Around Midday.Lighting
Midday light is generally impossible for Any Photography. Well..However...I also found out that Under a perfectly spotless Blue Sky,perfect as in perfectly 100% dark blue, it is actually possible to shoot around Midday. As I noticed...at that precise time of the day. In contrast, when the Sun is slightly hidden by the smallest clouds or mist, the midday light can be otherwise one of the worst ones and pretty awful.Equipment
I shot this image with the Camera integrated to My Mobile PhoneInspiration
My first Trip to MILAN as a Photographer. At that time I was only shooting for Fashion Magazines, and I was in MILAN to work for COSMOPOLITAN,(Italian Edition).I discovered this dish in a milanese restaurant...and I think I Liked it ! I enjoyed years later to Make my own and make everyone discover that dish by shooting it in the nicest possible light.Editing
Yes...I brushed off with My Photoediting software the tiny mosquitoe who dared to try and ruin My shot!In my camera bag
a NIKON F3 Camera with an ANGENIEUX Lens, My Mobile Phone rescues me if I do not have the heavier equipment with me.Feedback
It is nice to work with a Food Stylist whenever it is possible. Taking out that Task off the mind of the Photographer leaves the Photographer with more time to be creative as a Photographer.
