All the dolphins in the Monterey Bay are extremely social animals with complex social systems, hierarchies, and have family units, however, the scratches on them prove that they also fight pretty hard. The scars on the dolphins match their own mouths so don't think for a minute that these beautiful highly intelligent creatures are only sweet docile animals because they can really do some biting when they get mad at each other.

Location
I went on a whale watching cruise from Monterey Bay, CATime
It was in the afternoon and cool for being in early June.Lighting
It was a overcast day so there was no direct sunlight.Equipment
I used a SONY DSC-H1 with a exposure time of 1/80 and ISO of 64Inspiration
I always wanted to see the whales, dolphins and other sea life up close.Editing
The picture is basically untouched. No editing was needed for the way I liked the photo. In my camera bag
I have to keep my camera equipment to a minimum due to that I travel. I carry a DSLR with the standard set of lens. But most trips due to space limitations I carry the camera with one lens that is on it. I have a video camera for action clips. I don't like using my iphone to take pictures for anything but to post a quick picture on FB.Feedback
I am just a person who loves taking pictures that catch my eye wherever life takes me. I found that basically, take lots of pictures of the subject at different view angles and lighting if possible, then sort them out to find what looks good to you.
