Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the parking lot of a closed factory in Jewett City, CT.

Time

It was taken in the early evening, probably around 9pm.

Lighting

I used the available light from a street lamp.

Equipment

I used a minolta x700 camera with a minolta 35-70mm zoom lens. I used a tripod and a shutter release cable.

Inspiration

I love the juxtaposition of beauty and ugly things. My friend agreed to wear her wedding dress for me at this abandoned factory's parking lot.

Editing

In editing the negative I scanned, I lightened the background a bit.

In my camera bag

I have two shutter release cables, a light meter, a 35-70 zoom lens, a 28mm lens, a flash, and a minolta x700 camera.

Feedback

I used my light meter to get an approximation on how long to leave the shutter open. Have a good stop watch if you want to be precise about timing.
