Canyon De Chelly on the Navajo Reservation in northeastern Arizona.
This was one of our last stops on the rim drive because we didn't have time to hire a tour guide which is the only way you can explore the canyon with the exception of a trail you can hike down to White House ruin. This is just west of Spider Rock. Just unbelievable light -- stunning, really. It was actually snowing as I walked to this vantage point.

Hey Daryl -- you are indeed right about it being near Chinle -- we stayed at the Chinle Holiday Inn. Old man brain fart is my only defense. :-) Why I wrote Utah is beyond me -- and as you see, I put Arizona as one of the tags. I grew up in New Mexico -- and you'd think I'd be able to differentiate between the two...
