That's the way I look at the horizon too :). Nice capture!

Thanks a lot! There was such an indescribable peacefulness in its look...I adore looking at the sea, and can spend hours just sitting and looking at the horizon :)

Behind The Lens

Location

in Helsinki during my business trip...

Time

it was late afternoon

Lighting

lighting was quite good, it was not already a harsh afternoon

Equipment

Canon 60D, Canon 18-200mm, no tripod, no flash

Inspiration

I was walking across harbor after a hard working day, and the seagull captured my sight...there was such an indescribable and incredible peacefulness in its look...it was like longing for...in a peaceful silence...I myself adore looking at the sea, and can spend hours just sitting and looking at the horizon...I was so absorbed that I realized I need to take the capture only after some seconds...I am happy I did it, I do like this shot

Editing

almost not, only very basic

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 60D, Canon 18-200mm lens, Canon macro 60mm, Canon speedlight, sometimes a tripod...

Feedback

They say "we are photographing what we are"...so listen to your heart, notice everything around you, find something special and dear to you and do not miss the chance to capture the moment! There is so much interesting and unique in nature, we can always find something inspiring. Always take your camera, think about composition, find what you want to take more in focus and on what to take a stress on and think quickly about the exposure...and all these should be very quick...in street photography it's better to use RAW format, as the shooting is usually very quick for not missing the moment, so it may appear that you didn't have time and chance to do everything properly (especially white balance), so it will help you later to do a post-processing
