My snowy owl goddess? I will miss her ever so much. I had spent the last 2 months talking to her, photographing her and connecting with her.
Last Sunday I witnessed a photographer that I had never seen before photographing her. His lens was the length of my arm and apparently that wasn't long enough to get close enough to her for his satisfaction. He walked into the field she had been in for 2 months creeping closer and closer. I sat at the edge of the road with my heart cringing and crying. He went too far and was within a 5 foot radius of her, still that was not close enough. As he lunged towards her, she flew far away. We gave him hell, he didn't care or apologize or show any remorse.
She hasn't returned and I doubt she ever will. I have spent days and evenings trying to find her. There are other Snowy's in the area, but my Snowy Momma Goddess is gone.
I feel a *huge* chunk of my heart missing as I wanted to at least wish her well and say goodbye before her journey home. I *hope and pray* that she is healthy and happy and safe.
This man had absolutely *ZERO* respect for her. I truly hope karma comes to get him.
This was the most innocent and pure being I have ever encountered. I am thankful for the time I did get to spend with her.

Thank you for sharing your story, however so sad. Similar events are happening as more and more photographers invade into avian and wildlife territory. So glad that you had your special time with this "godess" and that you have so many captures of her. Glad you gave that person a tongue lashing. Best to you my northern avian friend.
