This photo was taken in Peekamoose, New York, which is Sullivan county in the Catskill mountains of Upstate New York. I was taken in the fall when it was just starting to get cold out. Peekamoose is a great place to take photos of waterfalls because on the road that winds through the mountain there are least 20 of them.Time
The time of the day was just around dusk and the sun was just starting to go down. My family and I had spent the day walking through the woods and taking a ride down through the mountain to see the different colors of the leaves that were forming.Lighting
The lighting was all natural, it was late in the afternoon and the sun was just starting to go down so it gave that blueish tone to everything.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon Eos Rebel T5i with a Canon 18-55 lens with no tripod. I was actually very surprised at the smoothness of the water I achieved without using the tripod.Inspiration
Just the natural beauty of the falls and the color of the leaves around them was inspiration enough for me. I love taking rides and walks with my family in the woods and finding these beautiful scenes in nature.Editing
I did a little post processing in photoshop to make the reds a little more brighter and the white in water more brighter. In my camera bag
I usually pack both my Canon Eos Rebel T5i's in my bag one with a 18-55 lens and the other with my 75-300 lens, along with other lenses and my tripod and of course extra memory cards and batteries.Feedback
Basically to get a photo like this the best advice I can give is alwways have your camera with you and just look around you and pay attention to the scenes that surround you. You never know when something gorgeous will catch your eye and it will make a gorgeous photo. Also have patience because not everytime you go out in the field will you find something to shoot. There are times I'll walk around for hours and not take one photo because I can't achieve a good angle or the lighting is off just a little bit.
