This one gets it. A very fine picture. You are invited to check out my pics of Trigger, Jr., and Scout. You do know who rode Scout, don't you? Hint: The other guy wore a mask and rode a white hore

Fine expressive animal portrait captured at precisely the decisive moment windwise.

Location
Taken on Shackleford Island, North Carolina. Waiting for the boat to take us back to town after searching the dunes for these special horses, I decided to walk down the beach. I could feel something behind me, like someone was following or watching me. I turned around slowly and there stood this magnificent stallion. He didn’t move. In all his stature, he stood still and just watched me. I talked to him in a soft voice as I raised my camera. I wasn’t sure what his reaction might be. He didn’t move, he just stood there letting me take all the photographs I wanted. Sadly, the boat arrived and I had to leave. Walking to the boat I turned, and he was watching me leave. Finally, he turned and slowly walked into the dunes. Such a moment, one I will never forget.Time
It was probably getting close to noon-1PM.Lighting
Nothing special about lighting. I just snapped away as I had no idea how long the stallion would stay.Equipment
Cannon50D, 70-300MM lens. No tripod, flash, etc. as I was walking thru and climbing the dunes.Inspiration
The magnificence of this wild stallion so close to me, not moving.Editing
I may have cropped the photo with light sharpening and maybe a little color touch of the sky.In my camera bag
Cannon 50D and 70-300MM lens, battery and a sun shield to go over the end of the lens.Feedback
I wish I could give advice to someone but I am an amateur photographer, still learning.
