Behind The Lens

Location

Tulip Festival, Mt. Vernon, Washington

Time

10:30 am

Lighting

The sunshine on the tulips was providing a translucent effect.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 with a Nikkor 10 - 14 wide angle lens.

Inspiration

I wanted to use the wide angle lens to create a larger than life feel for the tulips.

Editing

In Lightroom I straightened and cropped the image. I also removed a tree that was on the horizon line. I then played with the colours to create the final image.

In my camera bag

Camera, 2 - 3 lenses, tripod, cable release, lens cleaning cloth, extra batteries, filters.

Feedback

A wide angle lens is important for this kind of image. You have to have your camera very close to the ground and shoot up.
