The best camera... is the one you have with you. I can have the feeling of walking there myself, have seen many shots with my eyes but only could capture them the best with my new camera. So I have to return to south-east asia as well again, always nice to have a reason. Thank you for sharing this beautiful capture with us!!!

Location
Sapa is a beautiful town inhabited by many ethnic minorities in the mountains of extreme north Vietnam. About ten miles from the border with China.Time
About 4 p.m.Lighting
It was a hazy day. The light was pretty flat and most of the landscape shots I took were pretty flat and unremarkable. These same conditions however made color saturation of close ups pretty good.Equipment
Canon PowerShot S3 IS. Hand held. Was on a three month trip in Southeast Asia and the DSLR was too bulky to lug along.Inspiration
The Sapa region is renown for many ethnic groups who still live their traditional lifestyles. The women (or in this case, girl) in particular still wear traditional clothing. They are beautiful and colorful. My nephew and I were on a long hike through the countryside covered with rice paddies stepping up the steep mountainous terrain when we came upon this beautiful girl toting her little sister and weaving wrist bands as she walked. I bought a wrist band and asked if I could take her picture. Fortunately, she said yesEditing
Lightroom 5. Fixed white balance and clarity. In my camera bag
Canon 5d Mark III with 16-105mm, Canon 7D with 100-400 mm, Sony NEX 7 with 18-50 mm and 50-210 mm.Feedback
Be respectful of your subjects. If they say no to being photographed, that means no! Be personable and if appropriate, show good humor. A smile goes a long way.
