this is a great macro shot, i thought my shot of a fly was good because i got so close without it flying away but this is really amazing!

Wow! Amazing shot... What lens did you use here? It always amazes me to see all the little details of insects when people take shots like this. Great capture!

I LOVE this photo! What kind of lens did you use? I'm looking into my next lens being a macro but not too familiar with the types and strengths....Please assist me in info for something that can get me this strength. When I had a Canon AE1, I used to remove my lens, and turn it the wrong way to create a strength that was similar to this.

Location
At my home when I lived in Ventura California.Time
It was at around 5:00 or so on a potted plant that my wife just planted.Lighting
I just used a bare bulb flash and a flashlight to focus because the lense I used was a full manual and the appriture was small so I could not see very well.Equipment
I used a nikkon D3100 with a E series 50 mm full manual from like 1986 or somthing. Haha and a sb700 speedlight.Inspiration
I was trying to capture this little stinker but he was fast and woul not hold still. I finally snapped this shot I thought it was good enough to post.Editing
Well I did not know to mutch about that at the time and did not have PS so I did very little, but I think I did inhance the contrast and sharpened it some.In my camera bag
Now I use a D810 and my goto lens is the legendary 70-200 mm 2.8 VR ll, I also carry the 14-24 mm 2.8 and the 105 mm 2.8 macro 2 count um 2 sb700s couple pocket wizards and well that's about it for in the carry arround bag.Feedback
Oh man it's hard, on average I shoot like 100 shots of macro subjects befor I get somthing I like. But the main thing is paciants and be a sniper aim carefully and try to time your breathing with your shots. Because when your in full manual and up that close the depth of field is soooo small. The slightest blip and boom out of focus. But as you can tell you don't need the most fancy equiptment to get great shots. Have fun.
