Location
This is an abandoned house outside of a town in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia Canada named Osooyoos.Time
It was a late morning in May. the weather was quite cloudy and disappointing but as I drove through I was starting to see breaks in the clouds. The timing of this worked well as I was getting those bright spots breaking through and highlighting the hills in the background.Lighting

Well if you've looked at my portfolio you'll know that the house is a no brainer for me. The timing of the light made what may have been a drive by "I'll get it another time" shot into what you see. I've shot this house before but the scene wasn't lit this good.Editing
A few little Lightroom tweaks to shadows, contrast and added a little cool colour to the clouds to make it pop a little more. Nothing much more than that.In my camera bag
I'm currently on a full time road trip for my photography therefore I've "packed all the things!" I still have the D200 as a backup but now use my Nikon D800, what they call the holy trinity of Nikon lenses (14-24mm 2.8, 24-70mm 2.8, and 70-200mm 2.8) I also have a 50mm 1.4 and a 85mm 1.8 prime lens. A heavyweight Manfrotto tripod as well as a lightweight travel one. I also carry lighting gear in my truck for portraits etc that I do along the way as well as a bunch of video gear for my road vlogs.Feedback
Always be alert for spectacular lighting offered by good ol' momma nature. And don't waste any time getting yourself into place for the shot. This shot came and went in a matter of minutes. Also, a lesson I'm still learning, there are MANY shots to be had from days where the weather is less than stellar. We just have to throw on our rain gear and get out and find them. :)
