A one of a kind capture and most perfect photo! This has me in deep photo envy, wishing I had even one tenth as good a photo of eagles in my gallery. Congrats on being featured

WOW, I've been photographing eagle for over 40 years and to have a pair in your viewfinder is the luckiest thing one could ever experience. It appears to be a mating pair that are hunting together, this is one of the rarest events to have captured. It is a beautiful capture congratulations.

Great grab! Try a vertical crop, this photo will pop better. You don't need all that water.

Fabulous capture. The synchronous flight of the two is flawlessly displayed. The contrasting colors in the water make this image first class in my book.

Location
This photo was taken at Auke Bay in Juneau, Alaska. During the winter months the food sources for Eagles is limited and these two were both vying for the same herring in the water.Time
The photo was taken in the late morning when the sunlight was still low in the sky.Lighting
It was a beautiful day, all natural lighting, just made sure the sun was always behind meEquipment
I used the D800E, with the 300mm f2.8 VRII, hand held no tripodInspiration
I love eagles, one of my favorite subjects. I have been chasing Eagles for years, trying for the perfect shot. I live in Alaska where they are abundant so I get many chances. This was an amazing moment when all the hard work and patience paid off!Editing
I used Lightroom CC for very minor adjustments. I think for this photo, I made very few minor adjustments, and I believe it is cropped a bit, other than that, it's one of those one in a million moments when everything comes together at the perfect time!In my camera bag
I normally have my D4, and D800E for bodies. For lenses I have the 300mm f2.8 VRII, 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8 lenses, 105mm f2.8, and my 85mm f1.8. I always have my MeFoto Carbon Fiber Globetrotter tripod and anything else I can stuff in. I generally use natural light and try to get every shot out of the camera with little or no editing.Feedback
Always remember the basics and be patient...patience and planning usually leads to the best shots! Next to patience, camera stability, use good techniques holding your camera to ensure the best stability for the sharpest images.
