This photo was taken on holidays when we visited Melbourne Zoo for a day out with the Family.I had brought a new lens and wanted to try it out.Time
This image was taken at around 2:00 pm .Lighting
The Lighting was quite low as it was a cloudy day, so i had to lower my f stop and boost my ISO.Equipment
I used my Canon 7D with my new lens 70-200 II 2.8 attached to a Monopod.Inspiration
I love Orangutans so i was very excited to see them. When i first got to the area where the Orangutans were i watched the Mother and the baby bonding together and playing around. I took quite a few photos of the two together but i really wanted to capture the baby by himself. After an hour of waiting patiently the keepers brought out some food and thats when i finally got this shot with the baby by himself. It was totally worth the wait.Editing
I shoot this image in RAW and just tweaked the image in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 7DmrkII ,Canon 100-400mm ii , Canon 70-200mm ii and my Canon 100mm macro lens, Tripod or MonopodFeedback
When taking photos of wildlife at a zoo try and find out what time the animals are most active and when the keeper will be feeding them.By knowing this ahead of time gives you a chance to capture some unique shots. Know your camera and settings as wild animals can be unpredictable. But most importantly you will need lots of Patients.Good Luck.
