Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the hills in Lazio, Italy, in the suburbs of Rome.

Time

It was sunset, late afternoon during early spring time. The sun is setting on the opposite side, so it gave a lovely warm light on the subject - the old ruin of a house.

Lighting

As I've said earlier, completely natural lighting, warm light of a setting sun.

Equipment

I've used my Nikon D3200 and Tamron 18-200mm lens. Had no tripod at the time, so I used some bricks and my backback as a tripod. :)

Inspiration

I was walking arround in the nature, enjoying a lovely day, and saw this composition in front of my eyes, so decided to take a break at this spot - and ended up staying for at least an hour arround this house and hill... taking houndreds of photographs. I was actualy learning and experimenting with different settings at the time...

Editing

Only the basic corrections of contrast, light, vibrance... although not much vibrance was needed.

In my camera bag

Not much. Just my camera and lens mentioned above, plus Nikon 50mm prime lens, and a small handy tripod if not carrying the bigger one.

Feedback

Patience is crucial. And exploring the area, don't be lazy to walk arround, look for different views and compositions, don't be affraid to get dirty and get on your knees... be creative! The results usually surprise you much more than you've expected!
