If I want to take a meaningful portrait I try to find dark background so the eyes are the most important thing to catch an impressive moment, dark background helps if you dont have enough light and the veil of scarf helped me so its red patterned the boy's eyes and the veil were perfect contrastEquipment
Canon EOS 60D with standart lens (18-135mm) Aperture f/5.6 ISO 500Inspiration
I was graduated from Istanbul University Law Scholl seventeen years ago. My college is in the heart of famous historical places but the other hand there are abandoned houses and empty buildings at the back streets of territory. When I was taking this photo, I visited my scholl and nearby places. That child was a Syrian refugee. There were many of them in Istanbul. They settled in the back streets mostly abandoned buildings. It was almost the sun goes down and I feel a little bit anxious so they were wild and didnt want strangers in the street but actually they were not welcomed by native people. They were trying to survive some sort of illegal ways. The child at this photo is a boy actually, contrary seems a girl. His family asked money or they are not allowed to take their pictures. Then I took this photo in a hurry and unsafe feeling but the boy scares at least as much as me. His eyes were very naive and I think the children were always innocence under any circumstancesEditing
Its raw and I luminated and the eyes on photoshopIn my camera bag
I only have 50 mm lens and the standart lens of my camera. If I want to take some long exposure I have two polarized filters, spare battery and spare memory cardsFeedback
I had to use ISO 500 so I need more light but it reduce quality. in the morning and noon time were not good time so you have unliked shadows in the mid day sun but almost sunset is not offering enough light so its perfect time before 2 or 3 hour sunset
