Magnificent deep blue sky with cotton wool clouds, fantastic reflection in calm water, great detail on red ship and nice detail. Awesome capture!

Location
This photo was taken at Lake Ontario , Canada On september 28 , 2010. This ship is grounded near the Jordan Marina along the QEW.Time
I took this picture around noon EXIF info says it was at 12:27:12 PM.Lighting
As you can imagine the light is natural no flash was used. The sun was right on top & behind us. Something that helped with the reflections , were the clouds & the shallow water.Equipment
I used a Canon T1i with a Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 lens on a Manfrotto 190 series tripod. This were the settings : F/22 , 1/10 SEC. , ISO 100 , @ 10MM.Inspiration
I was on the way back to the US , from a photography trip to Canada with a group of friends. We saw the ship on the way to Toronto , and decided that we will take a few pictures of it , on the way back. Getting to the boat was a little difficult , due to the conditions of the road. I made it to the lake shore , so I had to take advantage of this , and take a few shots at it.Editing
Going back to 2010 and this image , I believe I used topaz adjust to process this picture. At that moment I only used Canon's DPP for RAW processing and as I mentioned , the Topaz Adjust stand alone filter. In my camera bag
It's been a while since that trip , now days I moved to a Mirrorless system, I'm a Fuji X- shooter now. I currently carry a Fuji X-E1 , Fujinon XF- 18-55 & 55-200 mm , and also a Rokinon 8 mm Fisheye. I also have a FotodioX EF to Fuji X lens adapter to use some of my Canon lenses. But it kind of defeats the purpose of trying to go lighter with equipment. I used a light tripod too. I also have some filters ND & grads and recently I'm using Lucroit's 100mm filter system , which I really like & recommend. Altogether I now carry about 10 pound less of gear.Feedback
My advice for this shot will be more of a recommendation for photography in general ; and it is to take your time when trying to photograph any given subject , never be content with one or two shots ; cause you may miss the one you really wanted. Walk the scene , go high, low , close & far ; to see what works best for that particular situation. It is better to be safe than sorry , like in this particular situation. Imagine if I had only taken a couple of shots a this ship , and later find out that it was out of focus or over exposed, etc. I could have missed this shot.
