This photo was taken at Auburn California. My husband and I was hiking at Hidden Falls Regional Park. Along the Poppy trail they have a small path that leads to Dead Mans Creek which is what this is a picture is of. I am self taught so every picture I take I learn something knew about my camera and how to use it.Time
My husband and I left home at around 7am in the morning to head up to the hiking site. We got there about 8am walked down Poppy trail and around 9 am I took this picture during the spring time.It was a beautiful morning and an amazing hike.Lighting
When I took this picture I was hoping to be able to catch the sun lighting coming down threw all the trees and sparkling on the water. Which is how the picture came out perfectly.. I am very pleased with all the natural lighting in the photo and how it came outEquipment
This shot was on a Canon Rebel T3i with the 18-55mm, no other equipment was used for this shotInspiration
When we got down to the bottom of the hill and walked back the short path to sit down by Dead Mans creek and I saw how Beautiful it was there with the sun shining threw the trees and the sparkles on the water that morning, I knew it would make a lovely picture and had to take a couple shots of it. I am very please on how they came out!Editing
The only thing I had to do to this picture when I got home and looked at it was I did fix the sharpness and fade on the picture to make it look a little clearer to the eye. Other then that I changed nothing with the picture. In my camera bag
When I go hiking or take my camera with me somewhere I usually carry with me my Canon T3i of course, 75-300 mm,18-55 mm,dslr 300, remote, table tripod, monopod and of course extra batteries and cards. I also have a couple filters to help with the light I use sometimes and a lens hood also.Feedback
plan ahead and take what you think will work for that time of the day that you are planning the trip for. Check the weather and see if it is going to be sunny out, cloudy, or raining that way you know which lenses or filters you may need, or a rain protector for your camera so it doesn't get wet..most of all take lots of pictures of things you like and think is pretty, and if you feel like it try different settings and see what you like better.. Just have fun with it!
