Location
This photo was taken in my back yard, with the bird tied out to a perch.Time
Early Morning golden hour.Lighting
This was taken in natural light. The sun had just risen and was perfect for this photo.Equipment
Taken with a Canon 7D, and a 70-200mm L series lens.Inspiration
This is my captive Anatum Peregrine falcon. She has a habit of taking her early morning bath and then rousing (putting her feathers back in place by shaking). I knew this so I got on the ground and prepared for her to rouse, snapping a series of photos as she did. I feel the eye-level shot and the strong focus on the eyes, makes the shot!Editing
No post processing except slight cropping. In my camera bag
I always have my 70-200mm, my 24-105mm, and my 400mm handy when I am out shooting.Feedback
Find a falconer and befriend him or her. Often times they will allow photographers to come over and shoot their birds. This is an excellent way to get up close shots of birds of prey.
