The Sheep Mountain Mill is located at an elevation of 8950 feet on an outcrop above the Crystal River near the ghost town of Crystal, Colorado, about an hour north of Aspen. Access is limited to hikers and four-wheel drive vehicles. Constructed in 1893, it originally had a horizontal waterwheel which generated compressed air for miners in the nearby silver mines. The mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Today it is a Colorado icon, and reputed to be the most photographed site in the state.

Its quite the rocky road to get there. My most memorable part of this photo shot was the incessant horseflies. Great shot!
