Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a friends horse ranch in Silt, Colorado

Time

Shortly after dawn

Lighting

The sun was a about to rise over the mountains, creating a warm even light.

Equipment

Canon XSI, 27mm lens, shot at f.6, 1/124, ISO 200. I used the corral fence to steady the camera.

Inspiration

The position of the two horses feeding, the early morning light and mountain backdrop.

Editing

I used Photoshop Elements to crop and enhance the lighting and colors.

In my camera bag

Currently I use a Canon 60D with 18-200mm lens. I also have a smaller, CanonSX 510 which is easier to carry on hikes etc.

Feedback

Early morning light is wonderful and well worth crawling out of bed. Use a tripod when available and watchful of excessive shadows.
