Behind The Lens

Location

Took this in my house pushed the table up to the wall.

Time

I was lucky I had an ample amount of amazing natural lighting coming in from a wall of windows. I took this roughly around 2 pm so there was lots of light.

Lighting

I love all sorts of light from natural light to dramatic rim lighting with externals.

Equipment

This was not my full frames it was either my Nikon D3200 or my Cannon t3i. 35 mm for my lens.

Inspiration

I had a specific requirements for one of my classes. But I always had to think out of the box when given a task to shoot.

Editing

I am a big fan of post process. I live in Lightroom but also know my photoshop a little too wel now. This was edited in my class as well.

In my camera bag

What don't I have should be the question. I have come a long way from my basic D3000 and stock lens. I have about six DSLR's in my box all Nikons with one cannon. And lenses in an additional case. I al a big fan of getting a cheaper lens to try out first then make investments in the good ones. Always keep the cheaper start outs so you have back ups for just in case.

Feedback

If you're trying to capture something similar by all means. Do it! I suggest do what makes your heart scream yes when you're shooting it. This image holds a lot of emotion for me since it's my daughter and I love shoes! There is an emotional attachment I have with this since I am a very adventure, dramatic, artistic shooter. This was a soft and delicate shoot for me since that is how I see her. For me to LOVE a totally different type of image then what I normally make is odd for me. But this speaks to me. I always tell people make art that makes you happy and speaks to you! Art is art so there is no wrong and right to it. And I can't stress the practice practice and practice. It really is what makes you truly better at what you do.
