Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in a small town called Ayr in South Ayrshire on the West coast of Scotland.

Time

This would be around 11pm

Lighting

I usually use a 35mm Nikon prime lens which gows to 1.8 or my Tokina 11-16mm wide angle as it is 2.8 so lets in lots of light.

Equipment

D3200 camera, my first DSLR, 35mm Nikon lens 1.8, gorillapod, no flash, long exposure shot.

Inspiration

I love long exposure shots, night time shots are great and as I was walking along the river I loved all the light reflections on the water.

Editing

just brightened up a couple of dark bits using lightroom.

In my camera bag

All my lenses, spare battery, wipes, filters, camera, shoulder sling strap, head torch.

Feedback

Experiment with the long exposure, change the time and aperture and angle of shot to see what you like. I always like to see smooth water with reflections.
