Location
The portrait was taken on a winter day in an abandoned Methodist Church in gary, Indiana.Time
I took this image in the afternoon, around 3pm.Lighting
The light was coming thru a window on the left side (not visible in the image). No additional light was used.Equipment
I used Canon 5D Mark II, 55mm lens and most likely a tripod.Inspiration
My friend who is a musician wanted to explore abandoned building with me and brought his guitar with. He likes to play songs on stages that have not heard music for decades. This image was inspired by his mood, which was melancholic and contemplative on that day.Editing
I did use photoshop to adjust contrast, color, sharpness. In my camera bag
I normally have my canon 5D Mark II plus few lenses (all are L quality fixed lenses): 55mm, 80mm, 100mm in my camera bag.Feedback
Shoot on overcast days, the light needs to be coming from one side. Hide the source of light, just capture the magic it creates on the subject.
