My photo of Alexa was taken in an alley in Carnegie Pa , just south of Pittsburgh Pa.Time
This was taken on a Sunday morning in September.Lighting
The alley was a little dark and I wanted the mask to stand out , so I used a flash .Equipment
I used a Canon XTi camera . With a 28-135 mm lens . I used a flash to brighten the mask .Inspiration
I had driven past this alley many times and loved the bricks and graffiti , I had my model Alexa in a gown , which was a major contrast to the alley . She had talked about a mask her friend had hanging on a wall , which the friend thought was creepy . When I saw the mask I loved it and thought the colors would go so well with the colors on the wall .Editing
I did a little color saturation and sharpened it a bit .In my camera bag
Canon XTi , 100mm macro , 28-135mm ,70-300mm ,10-55mm ,35mm ,quantaray flash , an extension tube and a pack of life savers , always peppermint .Feedback
Don't be afraid to go to the alley with the creepy mask , with cars driving by and people giving you strange looks . Some of my best work is when I've thought outside of the box . I am a rather shy person , but when I am behind the camera , I become the most outgoing person on the planet . So stand out in the crowd with your photography and you'll be amazed what happens .
