This is an early Autumn sunrise at a wetland area called Pickerington Ponds, which is just outside of Columbus, Ohio. It it a great location for foggy morning shots. I used a Canon 7D with a Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens, and shot at 100 ISO, f-11, 1-250 at 22 mm.

Nicely done! Great capture of the (what looks like a)goose flying by and the morning fog as the sun comes up.

Location
The photo was taken at the Blue Wing Pond area of Pickerington Ponds Metro Park which is in one of the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. This is a very popular wetlands area for many species of birds.Time
It was very early in the morning - just after sunrise in late September.Lighting
The day before had been unseasonably warm which tends to make for foggy conditions at Blue Wing Pond. I was anticipating the sunlight burning and defusing through the fog.Equipment
I shoot with a Canon EOS 7D. On this particular shoot I used a Canon EF-S 10-22 mm lens, and shot at 100 ISO, f/11, 1/250 at 22 mm, and no tripod.Inspiration
The Pickerington Ponds Metro Park provides great opportunities for landscapes, because of the changing light conditions. I saw the sun burning through the foggy conditions in vibrant reds and oranges. The goose in this shot was trying to catch up with the flock that had just passed through. A lucky and wonderful catch.Editing
Yes, I shoot in RAW format and did some minor post production work in Aperture. I first reduced the shadows to bring out the grass, but kept some mid contrast. Next, the shot was sharpened and refined with detail/definition to bring out the silhouette of the goose. The highlights were increased to bring out a little more of the blue in the sky and the orange in the fog.In my camera bag
Generally, the Canon 7D, Canon EF-S 10-22 mm, Canon EF 100-400 mm, Tamron 18-270, Tiffen lens, and Benro mono pod.Feedback
As someone who is constantly learning about various techniques for landscape photography I would advise getting an app that informs you of the time for sunrise/sunset and the "golden hour". Also, look for locations which create interesting atmospheric conditions, such rural wetlands.
