These are whooping cranes. They are the tallest of all bird in North America. We were travelling in New Mexico when I took this photo. We encountered 15 of them. So I told Hubby James to stop so I can take photo. Good that I brought the 400mm lens during the time. As I took the photos, I observed that they do things symmetrically. Like this pair, so I waited the moment when they do it again. Click! I got them in symmetrical position.

They use a site in our area as a temporary migratory resting place. If I had a dollar for every time I tried to get a good photo, I'd be rich! Your photo of these birds
is REALLY well done and a very good capture!

We have these land in our back field but unfortunately, I do not have a big enough lens to get a good close up as yours is. I have tried sneaking up on them but that has not proved possible so far. A beautiful capture :)

Gorgeous! Have you been to Nebraska to see the cranes in migration? It's peak season right now and we were just out to the Rowe Sanctuary to see them. Great capture!
