The title Ravishing is appropriate, the eyes and the perfection of this woman is beyond words!
Great photography, most appropriate use of B&W - your talent is showing. : - ))

Love the timeless elegance with the beauty and romance, but it's the eyes and facial expression that keep me staring at it....great capture of the emotions of the moment! Perfect!!

If the eyes (face) could tell a story, she could write a book. Nice work!!!

Behind The Lens

Location

I was a guest at this wedding and was shooting for a gift to the bride and groom. This image was shot at Benicia Historical Museum in the small town of Benicia, CA which is just north east of San Francisco.

Time

This shot was late afternoon on a very cool February day in Benicia, CA.

Lighting

Well we are just outside the great city of San Francisco on a rainy very overcast day. The bride and groom are under a easy up tent, the light was starting to get a little dark however the clouds made the lighting so soft all my pictures came out great without a flash.

Equipment

Camera make:Canon Camera model:Canon EOS 5D Mark II Focal length:200 mm Max lens aperture:f/2.8 Exposure:1/90 at f/5.6 Flash:Not fired, compulsory mode Exposure bias:0 EV Exposure mode:Manual Exposure prog.:Manual ISO speed:ISO 1000 Metering mode:Center-weighted average

Inspiration

The lighting was so diffused and the bride had such a classic look to her all I was trying to do was capture emotion and in this shot it was her eyes.

Editing

As always I start in Light Room and then moved the image to a black and white software called Nik. Nik is a great program that will let you create that classic black and white you used to capture in film. The program has every preset you could think of to replicate everything from Kodak, Ilford and Agfa.

In my camera bag

I shoot with a Cannon 5d mark ii. I aways carry the Cannon 70-200mm 2.8 lens. I carry an extra 3 lens with me which are prime. A 80mm 1.2, 50mm 1.2 and a 35mm. Also a Cannon flash 480.

Feedback

Weddings are crazy, very fast paced and moving from location to location where the lighting is aways changing. Find your exposure and dial it in and then just look for emotion. I love using the 70-200mm lens because I can get up close to a subject without invading the subjects personal space which will give you amazing natural photos with real emotion. I try to stay away from the flash however you will need it and if you do try your best to bounce it off a wall or a ceiling. Well that's it, just keep shooting. Thank you
