Location
This photo was taken in the Columbia Gorge. I like to take my camera with me when I go on road trips. I noticed these trees when I was heading to my destination and made a mental note to stop and take pictures on my return trip.Time
I took this photo before Noon on January 29, 2014. I took several photos because I wasn't sure which angle would be best. I liked this angle the best. It looks as if the trees go on forever.Lighting
There is nothing special. It was overcast and I had the camera on auto. It did the work for me.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3000. I didn't use a tripod or flash. I used auto and the camera used the following settings: f/5.0, ISO 400, Exp 10/600.Inspiration
When I drove past this site, I was fascinated at how perfectly aligned the trees appeared and thought that it would make a great photo. The site had several fields of trees planted all different heights. When I stopped to take the photo, I noticed the arch at the end of the tree line and tried to make it the focus.Editing
I didn't do a lot of post-processing. I cropped it to bring the focus on the arch and I played with the light and color a little bit.In my camera bag
I only have one working camera and that is my Nikon D3000. I still have a lot to learn about how to use the manual settings. I have four lenses I try to carry with me at all times. I would love to have a more powerful zoom lens. For now, what I have will do.Feedback
I find nature entrancing and I love to take photos of it. I usually will take photos of anything that catches my eye. I would have missed the opportunity to take this photo if I hadn't brought my camera with me. My advice is to try to carry a camera with you at all times and if something jumps out at you, take a picture of it.
